Experience

Andrew J. Thompson is a litigator concentrating his practice on Federal Employers’ Liability Act (FELA) and other Railroad Law matters, including retaliation claims under the Federal Rail Safety Act (FRSA) and disability appeals before the Railroad Retirement Board. He is Designated Legal Counsel for the Brotherhood of Railroad Signalmen. He has successfully handled railroad cases in state and federal courts in Ohio, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Florida, and Illinois.

Andrew is one of the founding partners of Dubyak Connick Sammon Thompson & Bloom, LLC.

He was previously a partner at Stege & Michelson Co., LPA and an associate at Chattman, Gaines & Stern, LPA, where he learned the nuances of railroad law and sharpened his skills as a trial attorney.

After studying journalism at Syracuse University from 1991 to 1993, Andrew transferred to Case Western Reserve University, where he earned a degree in political science. He obtained his law degree from CWRU School of Law in 1999.

Andrew proudly serves as one of the Directors of the Cleveland Academy of Trial Attorneys and was formerly the co-editor of the CATA News. He is also a member of the Academy of Rail Labor Attorneys and the American Bar Association.

Andrew was named an Ohio SuperLawyers Rising Star for 2012 and 2013.
